Carolyne Jamieson qualified as a teacher of the Alexander Technique in London, in 1984. Her background includes training in classical and contemporary dance, a Certificate in Remedial Movement Training from the Laban Centre in London, study in Tai Chi, and an Associate Diploma with the New Zealand Speech and Drama Board. Carolyne also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Religion.
Since qualifying as an Alexander Teacher Carolyne has worked in private practice, with introductory and specialized groups, run residential courses, and trained teachers in London, Sydney and Wellington.
From 1989 until 1995 Carolyne was assistant and co-director of the Centre for Alexander Technique Studies in Sydney. Carolyne returned to NZ, following a lengthy stay overseas, and established the first New Zealand, Stat. affiliated Teacher Training school in Wellington, in 2001. Carolyne currently teaches in Wellington and Kapiti. |
